I had the most absolutely wonderful time at Steve Coster Fitness! I went in December 2021 for about 2 weeks. Background: Though not always in the best of shape, I’ve been to a few fitness / bootcamp / martial arts retreats in different countries and a certain amazing combination of factors puts this one at the top of my list. Here we go:
Trainers: Steve (Krav Maga, Pads, Beach Bootcamp), Craig (HIIT), Paolo (Muay Thai)
I cannot say enough great things about the training I received. I came here totally out of shape and with hamstring tendinopathy, I could barely do leg lifts or run. But everyone was so helpful and positive and kept me motivated even though I always came in last, haha. By the second week my body remembered how to work out and I did much better. The beach bootcamp was very challenging and the highlight was the Friday bootcamp that took place in the water. It was SO MUCH FUN! The water has volcanic elements and it was warm and soothing. I think it would be a challenge for any level of fitness. The HIIT was also challenging and Craig made sure we didn’t quit! I’m a complete Muay Thai beginner but I was able to pick up a few good moves with Paolo’s great training. Since I have taken BJJ before, I was most comfortable with the Krav Maga and Steve did not disappoint! I learned so many things about self defense and protecting one’s self from club, knife and gun attacks and it was great to spar with others of all levels. And I left with great muscle definition in my arms, shoulders and neck from all of the work with the Pads as taught by Steve.
All in all, whether you’re here to get in shape, learn new skills or just work and hang out with a fun group of folks (everyone was so nice), you will love it here!
The Caring Services:
Besides always making sure we are having a great time and being super communicative privately and on the group WhatsApp, Steve would pick us up each morning (those of us without cars) for the beach workout and Craig so generously took us on a trip to Teide, the amazing mountain, and other places. Steve also took such great photos and videos so many times and sent them to us right after the workout. It was such a great memento of the hard work (and fun) we put in! The holiday party was also so much fun!
The amazing Chef Michael prepared our unique meals, daily lunch and dinner. I am a vegan and the meals were so creative and totally delicious! At one point I went even stricter and asked for very low soy and gluten and he was able to accommodate with no problem and the same appetizing meals. In addition Craig does shopping and delivers great breakfast foods to your apartment. I had yogurt, granola, oats, fruit, dates, almond milk — so many yummy and filling choices!
The apartment was lovely and centrally located, a quick 5 minute walk to the gym. I had a lovely 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and great porch in a building with a great pool. It was so comfortable!
South Tenerife is absolutely beautiful! Everyone I met in there was so very friendly and welcoming. The weather in December seemed between 63-73 degrees daily with bright sunshine. It only rained once or twice. The beaches are nearby and there are many, many shops and restaurants everywhere. And then, just a taxi ride away are several amazing malls that looked like they were built just yesterday with great stores, bars and even clubs. This island has everything!
I had such a fantastic time and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming to Steve Coster’s Fitness wherever you are in the world.
