What To Expect

Teide National Park
We will meet you at Mirador de los Poleos a west-facing point overlooking the islands of La Gomera and La Palma a lookout point situated on the lava field of Boca Cranjero the first recorded volcanic eruption that Cristopher Columbus wrote of in his ship log on his voyager of discovery to the Americas in 1492. Here we watch the sunset with a glass of cava. This is a wonderful photographic opportunity. As the sun drops below the horizon you can often see the colours of mount Teide turn a shade of red. After the sunset you will follow us up into the Teide national park past Mount Chinyero which was the last recorded eruption in 1909 and on to a lookout point at Mount Samara.
Here the sunset is beginning to turn the clouds vivid colors and the island of El Hierro is also visible. We set up our large computerized telescope and look at the Moon and a laser guide to stars.
